Can anyone comment on these two guns? Both have great reviews on pyramidair. I don't like the look of the Mendoza, but the M350 is twice the price scoped.

Not sure which to go with in .22, if you can give me pros/cons that would be great

Thanks

Eddie

Most Mendoza products are a gamble- their quality control and design engineers seem to need improvement, generally.

The RWS 350 Magnum has become known as a "scope killer" due to fairly harsh springer dual-recoil ("harsh" by even airgun standards)- but is apparently a very good gun otherwise.

All that being said- what is your intended purpose for the gun? Target shooting, plinking, or hunting? This would help dictate caliber and perhaps allow people to suggest a gun you have not yet considered.

Thanks....my intent is to target shoot with the gun, take an occasional chipmunk/squirll/rabit that strays into my graden. I wouldn't call it hunting, since I'm not actively out there in the woods, but I do feel a .22 is called for. The distances that I need performance at is about 30yrds give or take. I own many guns and appricate a well made gun, but for the prices of some of these airguns, I can get a really nice deer gun, so price is a consideration.

Thanks

Eddie

I think if you can afford the 350 magnum, you could also go for something that's "less but more".

What about the RWS M34? Less expensinve than the M350, and not as punishing on the scope.

The 34 is a great gun too. Any of the RWS guns are quality
airguns. You can feel the quality just holding one. Taken care
of, they should literally last several lifetimes.

What's an "M34"? There a c few variations of the model 34- all of which are decent guns- but the 'M' means nothing to me...

Thought the model number was M34, turns out I was wrong....it is RWS 34

anyway, thanks for your help.

All the model 34's are pretty fair guns for the price- certainly better than Daisy's or Crosman's- at least for the few that fall in that pricerange.

Personally, I would choose the 34 over a Mendoza- but maybe that's just me.

As for your choice of .22, perhaps not the best for target shooting, but definitely a better choice than .177 for shooting any live critter.

Perhaps someone else around here has some more ideas or opinions?

Is it worth getting the combo that pyramid is offering, or should I get the iron sights and buy a better scope?

thanks

If you compare things, even on the PAir site- you are basically paying $25.00 for that 4x32 scope. It may be a wonderful quality scope- I really have no idea- but is a 4x32 scope worth $25.00? That's something you need to think about. I'm sure the gun will also have the iron sights on it (it better) so if you want a better scope later or don't like it at all, you should be able to use the gun without it as well.

I have a Crosman (Mendoza) RM577, and all of this is true (at least in the case of this one example).

The safety catch is very flimsy. The trigger feels like dragging a screwdriver through a bucket of gravel. The stock is poorly shaped. The front sight was so low that the rear couldn't be dropped enough to zero at 25 yards.

All these things are correctable, and the closeout price was right for a "someday" project gun. (That, plus I like playing with aperture sights, and the rear sight is fairly nice.) If shooting, rather than tinkering, is your goal, go with the RWS.

The point of applying the $25.00 price difference to the scope of your choice is a good one.

Screwdriver through a bucket of gravel. Great analogy.

I read that the 34 has a plastic trigger, can that be changed by a gun smith? I think I will opt for the gun w/o the scope, and just invest in a scope later.
