...of any good tune are the lubes you use! I have been building race engines since 1978. It is a family tradition! And one thing I learned is that the most important thing to optimum performance is the initial lubing of the bearings and cylinder/ring assemblies. Those first 30 seconds of life in an engine are the most critical to long life and high output. i find the same is true in a spring gun. For instance, some guys gunk on the tar and have no vibration or twang. But they also have no shot to shot consistency, and when it gets COLD....haha, good luck! I put a light even coat of tar on the spring, lighten it up toward the piston side. The stuff flies forward as you shoot. Also a nice coat of moly on the piston skirt and another ring around and behind the seal. Polish the spring guide and put a light coat of moly on that too. Polish all the thrust washers and coat them too. Not too thick, just enough to make sure you have no bare metal. The idea is to make it so the spring can spin free. The gun doesn't torque as much, and the power goes to the piston. It will smoke a bit and the first 2-3 shots will be LOUD! I don't mind cleaning my barrel every 100 shots for the first 200-300-shots. MY tunes usually shoot clean after 50- 150 shots anyway!

If you are very careful not to get any lube in front of the
piston, there will be no dieseling what so ever.
