I haven’t had much to do with Phoenix Piledrivers, tried a few at the club a while back and found them to heavy (21g in .177) and running less than 12 lbs the UK legal limit, they seem to take an age to reach the target, unfortunately I didn’t crony them, they come in different sizes 4.46 to 4.52 and it does make a lot of difference if you use the wrong size, if you are going to try then I would get a sample pack first, Evidently they work better if you have an FAC airgun with plenty of power. I hope that helps but there not really my first choice of pellet, but I suppose with plenty of power and used for hunting they would be the ideal pellet, although there is a question about the grouping at 25 yards plus. Yea it’s similar to a Logun with out the bull barrel, but I think better looking, it uses the same reload mechanism as the Pheonix Carbine, still my favourite air rifle. What's involved in getting a "FAC gun"? Anyone know? And do most of the UK's air guns come both ways, as in UK 12ftps and FAC/or export? Nearly all airguns exported to the USA are usually sold with up rated power output, and I think the retailers usually give the fps on there sites, I know that Pyramyd air do. I hope this helps. If I order a FAC rifle here, then I would need a certain liscence, but if the guy from who I ordered it sends the stock and action in two different boxes, then I should be doing legal. Remember that in the NL we don't have any airgun restrictions. _________________ BIG GAP   Posted: Thu Jun 26, 2008 4:28 am Alstone Moderator & Site Supporter Joined: 01 Mar 2007 Posts: 4139 Location: Linconshire, ENGLAND Your right there Anton, you can have the parts legally as long as you don't put them in the gun, the problem with this 12 flb law is that you can set up your airgun to shoot 11.5 flb with a particuler pellet, and along comes the police put in a diffrent pellet in to test, and it shoots over 12 flb, so you have to make sure that no matter what pellet is available in the UK it cannot fire above the legal limit. The action does not automatically load a pellet each time the action cycles, but instead, requires the operator to manualy cycle a lever in order to load a pellet. It's too bad that the balance is at the trigger and not in front of it. But that could be easly changed to be in front of it with a weight. Al I'm saving money for a BSA Super 10 or an Air Arms 410 (maybe K).
