Does anyone know about any practical applications of rail gun technology. I just figured that since a rail gun could be comparable to an air rifle, someone here might know something about it.
You can get a lot of psuedo-scientific results online about rail guns and a number of people have made homemade ones, but I don't know how powerful, effective, or practical those are.
I think that having something similar to an air rifle using rail gun technology would be awesome. I mean the idea behind air guns is obviously using air as a propellant, but there are other types of propellants out there besides air, co2, propane, and gun powder. Like elocromagnetism. |

Rail guns are great. Extremely high voltages and frequencies. Cosmic radiation and residual gamma radiation . . .
Components of intensive cellular mutation! What's not to like? |

Yeah, but besides all that they are still cool.
I just want to be the first person on my block to get a confirmed kill with a frickin' rail gun. |

As long as you don't have children, Darwin awards are granted to any successful application . . . |

Figuring it would be easier and in an effort to save time, I said "Watch this!" to my friends but forgot to...
Thats how all darwin award stories start. |

| I'm not sure if I want something electrical that shoots stuff. Electrics aren't that reliable. Not to me anyway, I've watched so many computers burn, or smelled them, that I don't like to rely that much on electricity, yet I do. |
