I bought a copy of an Harris bipod rest from Hong Kong on E-Bay a while back, first impression was that it was a good buy, until the swivel fell off and I contacted the supplier and complained about it, and to be fair they sent me a new one by airmail. Which broke in the same place on the swivel, and since then I have read about three other people complaining about the same thing.

So what to do about it? I did fasten the swivel boss to the support plate with countersunk screws, which lasted for a while but it eventually broke, And I figured out it was because I was putting strain on it by trying to traverse side to side.

I have now sorted the problem out by adding side traverse to the bipod, this is done by replacing the swivel boss with a square block that can swivel and supports the original top plate with a side traverse connection.
