Why is everything competition or match grade a wadcutter? Wouldn't a pointed tip have the best trajectory, or at least better than a wadcutter?

They are designed to be shot at velocities not exceeding 600fps at distances no further than 15 meters. With maximum accuracy, and the ability to punch a clean hole in paper.

Speed is impressive, accuracy is deadly.

In addition, Round Nose pellets NOT Pointed have the best ballistics coefficients (ability to maintain velocity and energy).... Wadcutters are, of course, the worst in that regard....

IIRC Crosman pointed hunters have a fairly good BC even though they are pointed. Maybe because of their rounded over points.
