The description reads .. "To fit the Crosman 2240 2250 2260, This works by tensioning the hammer spring, added benefit if being able to change springs without dismantling the adjustment screw and locking band have a knurled finish"

Works by tensioning the hammer spring? ... I don't get it.
Does adding tension to the hammer spring transfer more power to the gun? Does it use more C02 in doing so? How do you know when you have it adjusted "right"? Or is it all just a matter of preference?

Increasing hammer spring preload makes the hammer hit the valve stem harder, releasing more CO2.... in longer barrels, this usually gives more velocity.... in a 2240, it usually just makes more noise.... Shocked

I find the biggest use for a velocity adjuster is to reduce the hammer strike and save CO2.... Wink

Thanks Bob!
I have the 2400 with a 24" barrel, but I'm only running a 12 gram powerlet. Embarassed

Still ... if it's adjustable, it may be a nice option. Smile
