silly little plastic gilmer "cog" belt pulley. Crying or Very sad
Think I remember a post from Joe doing the same.

just finished parting off a brake..reached
under it to pick it up & me arm hit the
carraige handle and drove the tool in to the
chuck big bang and it locked up....
no drive to the spindle. Crying or Very sad Embarassed

Ouch...

Look a little deeper... Not the belt pully...

Does the motor still run? If not... change the protection fuse. Ya may get lucky...

If the motor still runs but the chuck won't spin...
Sounds like the two speed gear... See if you still have High Speed... If you have one speed and not the other... The gear that broke is in the head... Break out the shop press... it helps with the re-build...

My first one was a bit worn... and all it took to finish it off... was the same thing... one good whack of the tool post into the chuck... Done...

The rebuild post was on the bed way up grade... I think...

Do the tapered bearings at the same time... you will not regret it and it will make gear changes easier in the long run...

Ken was a big help...
