The Cans keep coming...

So I thought I would start documenting the kills... A video from today is over in the BS area...

Well I decided to make a mount for my new Battle Cam!

I used a Weaver Rail low profile scope ring to clamp the mini cam to my 2250 CAN KILLER!

Here are some of the photos of the set up.

Pivot point for Hight Adjustment.

Nice. I was thinking of fabricating something to the
same effect.

This is my solution, video camera attaches to the sling mount thread.

The next thing you know the Military Channel will be featuring Yourdaddyjoe gun camera footage. Eat hot lead, you tinplate vermin!

Are there any cameras out there rated for springers?

Kidding aside, it's a cool idea.

I am not sure... but if we put our heads together... I am sure we could come up with a iso mount.

That settles it. I have to make a gun mount for my
camera. An elastomer isolated design could probably
be fabricated to absorb springer vibration.

Just so you all know...

Most camera tripods are 1/4"-20 pitch...

I bought a bunch of clamping knobs for the take down stocks I make... They work great with a o-ring on top to keep them from droping out of the mount.

Most realy good electronics suppliers have Iso bushings with and without studs on them

I was thinking of a neoprene suspension design for a
more supple camera ride and more travel.

Does your camera have "Steady Shot"?

Too much travel and you will end up with a pendulum effect in your video...

Al,
Is your camera mounted upside down?

It would need some kind of dampening method and have to be
tuned to not resonate or move with the gun, but let the gun float
beneath it. I think that I will make a solid one for the Condor first.
It has a very soft recoil cycle and produces the most dramatic
results upon pellet impact.

Maybe I can get some good shots of some long range snowshoe
flips. The young ones do 4-5 foot high back flips after they eat the
fermented feed. They make quite a bit of noise when hit too.

The pading that I used between the camera and the mount is just that thick tool box drawer liner you get from Harbor Freight.

I wonder if you use a thick o-ring between the camera and the mount and another between the clamping knob and the mount if that would be enough.

Yes it is Joe, I thought about making a bracket to mount it the right way up but decided it was easier to correct it using Adobe Premier. The mount screw is standard whitworth thead 1/4 x 20, so I made the sling fittings the same size, but only on a Co2 gun I think a springer would wreck the camera.

I did try a rubber mount between the camera and the stock but all this did was to shake the camera all the time.

The smaller Ixus camera in movie mode works better than the wideo camera, also a lot lighter.
