To hunt squirrels you don't really need the most accurate gun, unless you are shooting at long ranges. If it's just accuracy there are few more accurate that the RWS/Diana 54 Airking. In 22 it's a 20 ...

These sound like aniline dyes. Deeper penetration and rich colours than stains but light exposure will cause some fading if this is what they are.
