What do you guys know about the Crosman 130?
I can only tell you from my reading on the net that it had a new piston design from the older models (105/106 ???) and that it is not the most reliable air gun on the planet.
Has anyone had any experience with them, either stock or modified?
I have shot it and really like it and I may be able to pick it up very cheap.
Please let me know what you know.
Thank you.

| I can't say I know about the reliability of the 130, but it strikes me that it must have been more reliable than the 105s/106s. The 105/106 were only made for 5-6 years, while the 130 was made for almost 20 years. If it was unreliable I would think that Crosman- at least during that time period, would have stopped manufacturing it, not continue on with it for nearly 2 decades. |

I understand were you are coming from Eric.
I just read that the pistol will fire on its own sometimes and sometimes the valave will not seal on the first couple of pumps.
I was also wondering if anyone had any experience getting the trigger pull to be easier. The more you pump the pistol, the harder it is to pull to trigger.

The 130's can be modified to shoot very hard and trigger pull can be made to be very nice.I have had a few of them the first one was a little nicer than the second one.It had the wood pump handle,I did a little pump work on it along with a reseal and trigger job.I chronied the first one at 600-635 fps at 8 pumps shooting 14.3gr pellets,,I might add getting this kind of power greatly affects the trigger pull but it can be done..Like any pumper the valve, pump head space and trigger can be modded to your pleasure. The one I sold in the ad above I did nothing to because it was in near mint condition, with metal pump handle and original paper work and box,it was a 1970.I could never get it to shoot in the bulls eye,I was out of adjustment and it shot 1" low. but windage and elevation were perfect,so I sold it rather file on the sight.
If the price is right go ahead and get it,I think you'll be real happy with it they are powerful pistols compared to today's standards.

The 130 that I could get is in pretty good, used, condition. It does have the metal handle and plastic grips. The O-ring in the breech looks to be in good shape also.
I will have to wait and see what my uncle wants to do with it for sure.
