| i am looking for silicone spray to use on my 901 to keep the rubber seals lasting longer and keep rust at bay. all that is in my area is crc or liquid wrench, crc contains acetone so i can't use it. so how is liquid wrench?, i know its ok for all plastic or rubber but is it a good product? i just want something that will extend the o-rings and lubricate the gun. the liquid wrench does contain some oil. i can't afford to order any as my budget will only let me get a can every now and then, so s&h would kill me on just 1 can. there are no other stores near me that carry anything else. thanks |

I too struggled with finding a reasonably priced silicone lube for the breech o-ring on my Marauder. Everywhere I looked on line the price was high for a small amount and shipping was too much. And I couldn't find any airgun-specific products locally.
What I ended up going with was Silicone Faucet Grease that you can get for less than $4 in the plumbing department of just about any hardware store.
Here's an example:
http://www.homedepot.com/p/DANCO-0-5-oz-Silicone-Faucet-Grease-9D00088693/203193536#
It's not a spray so it doesn't have any volatile compounds that might attack the seals. But you will need to apply it with a Q-Tip or your finger.
I looked through all of the threads lampy suggested, and I didn't see silicone lube mentioned anywhere. Mainly they were talking about alternatives to Crosman Pellgunoil. For that, you can use non-detergent SAE30 motor oil available at Wal-Mart for about $4 for a quart. Non-detergent oil won't hurt buna-n synthetic rubber that is used for typical o-rings and seals.
I hope that helps. |

You will be Ok with Silicone Faucet Grease, I have used it when fitting new seals for years just wipe off the surplus, I have not had any problems at all, it can be used on drinking water supplies so it cannot contain any petroleum products.
