I have had a crosman phantom 1000 for quite awhile now but have just recently began using it for hunting small game in Kentucky. ( ground hogs, rabbits, squirells etc.) And while this isnt a heavy rifle at all, trudging through the knobs with it can get a little aggravating. So a natural upgrade would be to add a sling. I searched around the internet and found many options the best seeming to be a universal fit but I am somewhat of a customizer and that just seemed to easy. So as i continued to search I found a post on this forum by crosman140 showing how he drilled holes in the stock to create attachment points using some leather. I liked the idea but really wanted to have studs installed. So i removed the studs from an old mossberg 500 stock i had laying around, grabbed the drill and set to work.
I started out by drilling a hole in the butt of the stock where a stud would be located on most rifles. I then used the placement for the front that crosman140 used. To explain, if you look just in front of the screw that attaches the stock there is a recess i didnt have to drill all the way through because the stud was that long but if yours is a little longer you may need to. I drilled the holes smaller than the screws put a little super glue on them and screwed them in. And here is the end result.
