I mean I have only one Crosman pump-up .177 pistol for practice that I inherited new in the box and rarely shoot, because I like the range and power of the air rifles. But I saw that some guys were getting Cybergun Tanfoglio Witness 1911 CO2, BB shooting pistols...semi-auto with real blow back action, and customizing them with some actual .45 auto parts that fit. Man, that looked fun and the shooting looked great, so I got one ordered.
Anyone here have one, or any customizing tips and sources?
I can't wait to knock down some cans out back! |

I will robert. Pictures when I get it. I ordered an extra mag and Pachmayr Legend grips. I also want to do the paint strip and polish for the silver slide look. I don't like all the warnings and branding inked on it. Target trigger? Maybe later... |

you get a new gun and it looks like a billboard. they need to drop the crap and consentrate on quality. . i bought a new browning buckmark and it woulda been a nice pistol if it didnt have all the warnings stamped on the slide |

Works perfectly. Pow pow pow and the slide goes full rear each shot. Locks open when it's out of BBs. Fun times.
I ordered some Legend grips for a 1911 to put on it. Took the paint off the slide (and the letterings and warnings paragraph) Polish it tomorrow.
No accuracy test yet but I'll get back to it here with more pictures when the mods are done. Love this thing!
Cheers
Rob

It looks and feels like a 1911 pretty closely. Field strips similar too. I love the recoil, and that a lot of 1911 parts fit it...grips, apparently even the trigger assembly with slight modification according to some other owners...
Slide and barrel stripped and polished. Scotchbrigt pads, small brass brush for inside cracks and corners, and laquer thinner worked well. Kept the thinner off the plastic and internal parts. A little wet sanding with 400 and 800 grit, then 0000 steel wool for a shine. Wash dry and oil where needed....

Nice job

I have to say the build quality still seems excellent to me, and it has been reliable with both magazines. I am getting about 3 per CO2 cartridge. I load 16 or 17 BBs at a time, so about 50ish shots per. Loading the full 19 sometimes hangs up the BB follower. Not a loud gun but it sounds like a pneumatic nail gun.
I shot several 10 shot groups from a semi-rested position at 11 yards (19 meters) and get about 3" groups. Not bad for me--for blocky, factory fixed sights, I guess.
I love the new grips. Had to remove a bit of wood from insides of the wooden panels to fit them. Not difficult with a Dremel tool. The grips feel great and I like the look. They are Pachmayr, American Legend grips I got from Midway USA.
cheers
Rob
