On the GTA, a member just posted this photo of a male Foster fitting which blew apart, causing some loss of hearing, bruising, and minor cuts to arms and legs....
It was purchased on eBay, source unknown, and although it looks like steel, it is not magnetic and he thinks it is made from Pot Metal.... Buyer Beware....

The concensus is that the fitting is a plated brass male "Foster clone".... I presume plated to hide that it was made of brass.... an accident looking for a victim....

Thanks for the heads up. I found a female quick connect port on ebay for $6... and then I remembered this thread.
Is there anywhere you can buy good quality ones kinda cheap? It costs $20 on Pyramyd and the ones I found in Lowes and Home Depot are cheaper but all 1/4 instead of 1/8 |

The 1/4" NPT fittings you find at a hardware store are designed for shop air compressors.... ie maybe 200 psi?....
The only safe way is to buy a pressure rated Foster QD, or at LEAST a pressure rated clone.... Purchasing a "paintball QD" from eBay MAY be OK for CO2, but I wouldn't trust it on HPA....

| Did anyone ever state the name of the seller/store where this fitting came from or if there was a brand/manufacturer's name on it? I'd hate other people to purchase them on Ebay without knowing... |
