Getting started on converting a B3-1 to look more like an AK 47 training rifle.
It will have the following:
AK47 buttstock
AK 47 upper hand guard
AK 47 trigger guard and mag release
AK 47 selector lever (from a semi-auto ak)
Muzzle brake
Airsoft magazine.
Fitting and refinishing the stock. Still waiting on some parts to arrive.

That's way cool. I've had b-3's over the years.
My first was an SKS clone. |

Thanks. I was inspired by Slavia and another guy on the CAF forum.
I will post more photos as it progresses. Right now I cant start fitting the magazine until the mag catch arrives. |

That makes me happy.
Your AK stock appears more solid than the original, and looks like it was meant to be there. The upper handguard is a nice touch also. I considered one for my Industry B3-2, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. My daughter convinced me that my B3 needed a fake magazine, and even my little stumpy one improved the gun's appearance. Yours is even cooler.
On the chance that you haven't seen this:

When you get a chance post some photos of what you had to do to get the new parts to fit. |

The buttstock needs to be slightly thinner, and needs a groove cut for the safety lever (inside the receiver). It would vary a bit depending on what AK variant was used as there are several different receivers available for them.
If you are making this swap, it would be very easy to see what you need to do with the parts on hand.
The upper hand guard needs to be inletted a bit, not much, and cut down so it is not as tall.
I have not started with the mag yet as I am waiting for the catch to arrive. I need that so I can space it properly. I expect to cut a hole in the underside with a dremel.
If the factory folding stock is retained, and the magazine placed forward, it looks a lot like a Chinese type 81. Unfortunately, almost no one knows what that is.

As a matter of fact, I do! But for some reason I have never seen the folding stock version. |

I dont think they made them for very long. I am surprised they tried to develop anything on their own anyway. The Ak is simple and cheap enough for them to make and tuff as nails. |

That new bull-pup rifle the PLA is sporting is I think based on this, then again, the type 81 is heavily derived from the AK.
The PLA also uses their own intermediate cartridge these days.
I have to admit I only recently read up about these Chinese firearms. |

| The Chinese say the QBZ-95 is an all new design. Have never seen one, so I cant say. Some were imported into Canada, then the police recalled them, and reclassified them as prohibited weapons. I dont know what the outcome of the resulting court case was or if its still pending. |

This relates (there is a photo, also):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QBZ-95
Qīngwuqi Bùqiāng--Zìdòng, 1995; literally "Light gun, Rifle, Automatic, 1995") sure explains why the Chinese have so many "QB" and "B" models. |

Finally got some time to work on this. Mag is now fitted. Just need to put it all together. Still need a bolt for the grip though.

Just waiting on a new bolt for the AK grip as its longer than the B3, but you get the idea.
Next project, get rid of the tactical front and return this "AK" to normal.
