1) Target to download and print: Week 16; Dec/24>30/2007

Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.
2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.
3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
4) Any sighting device may be used.
5) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
6) 24 shots at the target, 2 per sillhouette maximum, with 5 sighting/practice shots not on the clock using a different print-out of the target.
7) 20 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 20 minutes-stop!).
8) Scoring is 10 points for red, 5 points for green, 1 point for black and no points for white.
Touching the edge of a colour counts for points. Only two hits per sil counts.
Maximum point count is 240.
9) Entries need to be scanned or photographed and posted.
Posts must list gun, pellet, sighting device and total time expended.
10) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries- but all rules must be followed for each.
11) Score your own target. Winner and Runner-Up will be verified by board officials.
12) This is an honorable contest for sport- if you lie or cheat, you are the only one who really loses. Please keep it above-board!
13) Each competition runs from Monday to Sunday. Your entry must be posted in the forum no later than 23:00 GMT Sunday.
14) These rules are for this week's shooting competition and may change for others.

Grips for the 2240 should be in this week I hope so I'll wait till I got them on for this one.

In the meantime, I have to see what this new Diana carbine likes to digest best and...maybe order a scope and see. Very Happy

I couldn't tell from that distance how I was doing since I was shooting with iron sights this time. Seems like a pathetic score to me but wanted to see how I would do with the Diana, it's nice and light but will need some minor adjustment. So...

Rifle: Diana 24 C1 .177, iron sights
Pellets: RWS Diabolo Basic
Standing, off hand 10m/32.8ft
Time: 11 mins
Score: 26

Cheers and Merry X-mas.

Fellow Competitors,

Stance: Standing, one hand
Score: 26
Time: 12 mins

Rifle Target:
Gun: Avanti 753
Ammo: Crosman Match
Distance: 10m
Stance: Standing
Score: 36
Time: 15 mins

Thanks to all,

John

Hey John, just wanted to point out something, pls correct me if i am wrong, in your pistol target, if you see the first target in the last row where you have counted points 11, shouldn't that be 6 coz its one green and one black and that will be 5 + 1 ?? Question Question and making your pistol score as 26 ??

Mr. Green Good shooting though.. i still have to give it a try.

Bhargav,

Wait a second! There's no cheating allowed??? ; )

Yep, you're right, I went back and looked and it STILL took me a second to see my mistake! I guess my mind just wanted a better score then was reality!

Thanks for keeping my honest! Smile

I went back and changed my message to reflect the proper score! : 0

Steyr LP1, RWS pellets, 5 meters, one hand, 13 minutes, 67/240. This is a tough target. After a few complete misses I decided to try for the red spot and managed to hit a few.

I'm afraid I'm bone dry tonight. Smile

Nice shooting Woody, I was going to start aiming for the tail. Laughing

BTW Woody, your second squirrel, second row from the left looks like a hit on the front paw that is good for one more point.
