It's not really a "gun show," it's more of a "test drive" for guns. Benelli, Browning, Winchester, Mossberg, Smith&Wesson, Ruger, DPMS, and many others were there with their offerings - which you could try for the price of ammuniiton. If a new gun isn't in your future, you could shoot flintlocks, paintball guns, a gatling gun, machine guns - just about any hand or shoulder-fired device that flings a projectile. BATFE even had a table. The host (Ahlman's Guns) has permanent ranges for trap, cowboy action, black powder, military/police, and civilian use. They also have a stockade fort, an opera house, a blacksmith shop, and a water-powered machine shop - not to mention the fiberglass talking moose, the mechanical rabid squirrel diorama, and the shag rug mastadon. It's 1950's tourist-trap kitsch, but with constant gunfire and breezes perfumed by campfire and gunpowder smoke. In many ways "Shooters Roundup" should read "shooters circus": We had to catch the bullwhip demonstration (yes, he did snuff the candles with the whip): And the wild west melodrama (here the pastor of the Holier-Than-Thou church chats with one of the saloon girls): And the trick shooting: And the 1st. Minnesota, home from a recent engagement at Gettysburg: It seems like every large celebration around here has to have a car show: Of course there were the more common things, like shooting machine guns: Some exhibitors did have things for sale, like these calendars. The models were on hand to autograph their month if so desired: Annie Oakley even showed up: You guys all know that airgunning is the bastard stepchild of the shooting community, and this event was no exception. Morristown is about 60 miles south of Minneapolis, and just 15 miles north of me in Waseca. This is what the day was like. There is a bunch of other stuff from this (and previous) years on Youtube.
