Well, it was bound to happen after a guy used a semi-automatic AR15 in a mall on a crowd, here in the Netherlands. Now Minister Opstelten is going to prohibit semi-automatic rifles and Dynamic shooting. The Dutch Shooters Association bows it's head in obedience once again.
I don't have to explain on how many levels this is wrong.  |

| Why can't the powers that be see that making such laws only hurt the law abiding people, as the criminals and careless people will just ignore the law? |

The thing is, if it exists, sooner or later someone will misuse it. So next someone will use a shotgun, then they'll be gone, then, a bolt action rifle, then they'll be banned....on and on. You are on borrowed time if you don't fight.
Because some goomba is going to drive down a crowded sidewalk and kill a bunch of people, then you will not be allowed to have cars, which won't be a huge deal, because gasoline will have already been banned after someone lobbed a few molotov cocktails into a school bus.
Prohibiton is good for the crime business, worked great for alchohol and still is for dope--so be looking forward to the full-auto guns coming in now. But you won't have them, only the psychos.

(Oh by the way, the government and media have access to the same statistical data as the rest of us. Public safety is not their goal here....but you knew that, right?) |
