I dug out an old 25 cent auction pistol, and put some through it. It loves to shoot them! I'm gonna add some photos of this old clunker tomorrow, because I think I want to try to fix it up a little (starting with duct-taping the cracked stock back together so it stops biting my hand), as I'm astounded at how accurate and consistent it actually is! It won't even feed the Rabbit Magnums, they barely fit in the bore, which proves to be tighter than that of my Viper. I remember shelving this thing because it wouldn't shoot those gold PBA pellets. These other ones shoot great though, and sound to me (guessing based on time of impact) like they're going at least 600 fps. Fun.
Threads kind of useless til I can take those photos though, sorry. |

| Well- I guess those "super/hyper velocity" pellets have to shoot out of something. Can you at least hit the broad side of a barn at 50 feet? |

Oh yeah. Doesn't sound like they're carrying much energy though. Still no picture, technical difficulty.
UPDATE: Here we go.
^^ Most difficult photo ever taken with an android phone
As we can see the stock is cracked, I'm gonna probably fix it with duct tape til I find a nice piece of wood to carve a new handle out of.
The rear sight sort of just hangs on, I think I'd like to make a new one and fix it on a little tighter.
I haven't taken it apart yet, I can't wait to see whats holding it together. Can any of you guys give me any technical advice for something fun I might do to the spring housing or something? I'm bored, and the neighbors let their little monkeys out, and I can't shoot. First chance I get, I'm gonna shoot some groups at 10 yards or so and see how they post. |

After about 40 shots on paper my trigger finger hurts. Took me about 20 shots to get the sites where I wanted them seeing. Had 4 or 6 fliers thanks to the awful trigger. Once I got her tuned in though, and before my finger got sore I got the other 15 or so shots in a 3 inch area, not particularly tight. I think the trigger is largely to blame, its really a struggle to shoot without pulling the muzzle before the bastard breaks.
I'm gonna shoot some groups with my old Marksman rifle, so I can feel good again... |
