I live in the Sierra Nevada foothills, about half way between Sacramento, and Reno. I'm retired, have a hobby machine shop in my garage, and recently finished a 1/8 scale model Civil War Napoleon 12 pounder black powder cannon. It is .50 caliber. I don't hunt anymore, but I still like to shoot. I buy inexpensive air guns to customize. My most recent is a Crosman Titan .22 Nitro Piston, which is a real pleasure to shoot in my garage. Now, I want to convert my Gamo Whisper, and my Beeman RS2 to NP. Al I think I fixed the password problem; I set the album to "public" share. The story is in the captions, as well as the pictures. I'm in the process of making some proper wheels for it, so it is still a work in progress. Thanks for alerting me to the problem. Im living in Reno, NV and am contemplating a non resident CA hunting license to hunt squirrels up around the Truckee area down through the Grass Valley. When you did hunt did you do it with an air gun through these parts? Welcome to the form and sounds like your quite the tinker these days. I would guess out loud that half way between Sac and Reno is Rocklin/Auburn area if your right off the I80. We have lotsa squirrels, but these days we coexist peacefully. I did hunt them with a .22(rimfire) where I grew up some 60m W. of Chicago. They made good stew, but were tough skinned to clean. Calif. has more anti-gun people than squirrels, so just finding a place to hunt can be difficult. Yes sir Ive already been to both but I was looking at powder burners for coyotes and some of the larger long range varmints. I found some sections around the Eldorado and Tahoe Nationals forests that allow small game hunting so unless I hear unfavorable reports from the local game wardens I wont worry too much. Then I have to get a permit from NV to bring them back across the state line due to their protect status in NV.
