I think members should be encouraged to give a minimum of info where they live, at least the country or the state or prov. That way when they ask questions it might be easier to get an answer if a person understood what if any geographical issues could apply or what local resources may be at hand.

"Encourage" is probably the best idea; for whatever reasons, alot of people don't want to offer up too much personal info, so it's not going to become a "requirement" by any means.

I think the posting of a person's location should be completely up to the person. If a person asks a question that needs their location to give an answer and it's not supplied who is at a loss besides the question poster? It's the same as asking someone to post their real name.
