I'm planning to order the steel breeches for my 1377, 1322 and 2240. Has anyone changed them? Just wondered how much of a hassle it is? The only problem I can foresee is stripping a screw or rounding out the head of a hex screw.

Easy to change.... Make sure you check the length of the rear mounting screw as it may be too long and bind on the hammer spring and damage it....

To remove the tiny screw under the bolt, press down HARD on the breech to remove some of the pressure on the screw.... and use a new, sharp, 0.050" allen key to remove it.... I always cut a slot in the top with a Dremel cutoff wheel so that in future it can be removed and installed with a slotted screwdriver....

Ya I've changed a few.

The new breach comes with the allen key to get the tiny socket screw out thats in the loading ramp.

The rear screw may need a tiny amount of trimming as I have had an issue with it being just barely long enough to touch the hammer spring

Other than that you may need to fiddle with the rear sight if you plan on putting it on the steel breach. If your putting on scopes then your laughing

I tentatively plan to add a pistol scope later, but haven't decided which to go with. I have a nice mount that will mount the scope and also handle a laser and flashlight. Still, I like open sights and may leave it or possibly upgrade to to a better one.

I have an NC star pistol scope on top of my 2300 and I like it. It's a b!tch to get the parallax adjusted, but once you do they shoot great.

The eye relief thing and hold are always an issue with pistol scopes. It's why I'm still holding off on ordering the optics.

I had to practice with hold and looking through the scope, but it didn't take long for me to get it down. You could always use a red dot scope. They seem to be decent for pistols.

I never really liked them. Probably a function of age. I learned to shoot with open sights and a small one inch scope on a .22. I have a red dot on my Nighthawk. but have never gotten real comfortable with it. Same with laser sights. I had one on a Daisy 622 (which they don't make anymore) and took it off. I think I gave it or at least offered it to my son.

Old dogs new tricks I suppose, LOL. I like scopes.

and that is getting the steel breeches.

Do you have them, already?

Do you have a way to get more, if so?

I'm not placing the order till after I get my next check. I talked to customer service at Crosman. They make them when ordered so they told me the best way was to call and place a phone order with a credit card. They'd take around 2 weeks (at least that's what they told me). So, I'll let you know when I order...but you can call Crosman customer service.

I had my credit card in hand. Talked to Customer Service...

They denied me. GRRR

She would not even discuss the steel breeches, other than to say they were out of stock. I mentioned what you suggested, because I had read your post before, and she cut me off.

Maybe I don't know what to say...

Actually, the girl I talked to acted sort of pissed-off, from the beginning of the call. 8(

Was this customer service? The person I talked to was very helpful and friendly. Now you've got me worried.

I'm sorry, I was just so dejected, because this is the beginning of the fun with my 2240 and I can't really get started until I get the long steel breech.

I am not trying to burst your bubble, I actually hope you can "Git 'er Done", so I can use your info to get a breech for myself.

If you should get a good representative, get the name, and maybe I can ask for the same person...

Sorry
