Finaly got the B4 has I like it, fitted a new Hawke RD30SR Red dot sight, plus removed the front sight and replaced it with a flash arrester, this I made from steel so that I could give it a nice hot blue job, also I have replaced the crappy spring clip used to hold the cocking lever up.

What did you use to attach the muzzle break/"Flash arrester" on to the end of the barrel?

Well considering the dieseling when new I thought it appropriate, but if you like I'll call it a "recoil compensator" or a "linear compensator", let's face it in the land of the all conquering "Silencer" I'm not going to call it a "Muzzle brake" there again it'a basically it's just a bit of flash.

A couple of 3mm grub screws, the end of the barrel is steped for the original sight so I fastened on to that.

Hey! A New secret recipe! Wonder how long this one will be kept a secret for!
Looks absolutely flawless Al!
Good job with the 3mm (guessing stainless) Grub screws! Might as well take advantage of what's already there

Stevie the "new" secret recipe is "suds oil " used neat, heat the steel up to just before it starts to go to cherry red, then plunge it in to the sud oil, perfect results every time, ordinary oil will not work but suds oil because it will mix with water seems to work very well.
Don't tell anyone otherwise everyone will be doing it.

There you go your all intrested now!. "Suds" oil as it is known over here is cutting fluid or coolant as used on machine tools, it'a the type that when you mix with water it looks like milk, unless you can catch a penguin.

Ah see- now "cutting fluid" or "coolant" I understand. Which reminds me, I think I have a spray-bottle of it probably frozen solid right about now hiding in my garage. Perhaps I better remember that before I go turning the heat on in there and end up with a pile of goo on the workbench! |
