I kind of like these. I thought they would be all gimmick because of the name, but man they do expand, and somehow maintain the penetration of a heavier domed pellet that doesn't--at least in my tests and from what I've seen of others. Very accurate for me as well. I am impressed, but when I couldn't find them in .22, I looked on the Crosman website and found out they are only listed in .177. Bummer. Aside from our wee arguements we got into I heard from an industry insider years ago that pellets, and on occasions rifles, get manufactured in .177 initially to get a feel for the market. If that particular item takes off, it'll be made in the larger calibres. You may have noticed I've a soft-spot for Gamo.... so you can work out who the 'insider' worked for. As NZ Shooter pointed out- most times a pellet is only offered in one caliber to 'test the waters'. Funny enough, I have never come across many people who claimed the .177 Destroyer worked for them very well. Perhaps Crosman improved the quality, or perhaps the "gimmick" market really does sell alot of product... _________________ ` I'd say "I care." But I'd be lying. That makes sense since .177 is the big seller. I have not tried these on game yet, but they hit the bullseye in my Vantage 1200, and expand while blasting deeply in my water-soaked napkin "ballistic gel", and the big block of plumber's putty, both with "simulated" animal hide covering--and also the pine boards...My three standard tests, if and only if, they group well on the target first of course. I may try them, but I will question their ability to group over 50 yards ahead of time. Bob You know, thinking about all you guys' comments, I never did test them past about 22 yards so I may find my enthusiasm fades, eventually. But then that's usually about as far as I shoot anyway. I may hate them on a longer crow shot. I'm still giving them a chance for my short range hunting though--and am happy the .22 is coming out. Hopefully, the .22s will hold their cone and their sting better past 20-25 yards (to maybe 35 yards) and for me, that is all I need for airgunning. _________________ It's never too late to have a happy childhood.
