Very nice. I had a Nitro Venom Dusk myself! But it then encountered a big Crowning issue. Thanks to SMP, it is now re crowned and it was given to my Uncle as a Christmas gift! |

How does a rifle encounter a crowning issue? This is user error, or something that happens over time? |

what is crowning |
The Crowning of the barrel is right at the muzzle. It is the pattern of grooves that go along the end of the barrel. If those grooves are messed up, it can really throw your pellets around the target. |

A bad Crown can come from a bad pellet, misuse, and possibly over time. I'm not sure about that one. |

A bad pellet, are you sure ? If a deformed lead pellet can ruin a steel crown, a non-deformed pellet would too, surely? I seriously do not think a pellet in the correct calibre for a gun will ruin a crown - deformed or not.
I do however think putting a steel BB into a .177 rifled bore would cause significant damage.... if it does not roll out before you fire it, of course.
Jr., please correct me if that is not what you meant thanks |

I think burrs from the manufacturing process are more an issue than wear. |
