Well....First 50 shots were all over the place and the gun seemed too shoot weak.
I was pretty disgusted.
Then we shot another 75 shots and toward the end, it seemed too be getting alot quieter and stronger.....just like the paperwork stated and alot of folks on here have told me.

Finally after about 150 shots, the gun is very quiet, and powerful!!!!. Also, it is dead on at up too 50 yds. (that's as far as we were shooting).

First few shots wouldnt shoot thru a piece of 3/4" treated plywood.
Not even halfway thru and I thought I had made a big mistake.

Now after about 150 shots.......it shoots thru the plywood splintering out the back of it like a big rifle!.

Dont waste your time with cheap pellets either......I had some Daisy .22 pellets that I already had and they wouldnt shoot good at all.......I then went too the store and bought 500 round tin of Crosman domed hollow points and they shoot fantastic!.

We shot some cans full of water too see what they would do and it split the cans apart from top too bottom on entry side and exit side.

I'm very pleased with this gun now! Thanks for all the advice.

Oh yeah.....I hated the stock trigger so we adjusted it in a bit with the adjusting screw on the bottom and even though its still a long pull, its alot crisper on the second stage.....however, I'm still going too go with the aftermarket GT III trigger soon.

When I began shooting with my Benjamin NP Trail I had trouble setting up the scope but now after shooting many pellets it's a tack driver. Maybe that was because of the break in period that you seem to have experienced.

My Benj is a non-PAL so it isn't as powerful as a your Benj XL. I'm not splitting plywood yet but it makes a pleasant "ping" when I hit my metal spinner targets. I've checked my velocities and they're just below the 500 fps limit.

I'm having good shooting results with the .22 Crosman Premier Hollow Points. Could they be the same as the "Crosman domed hollow points" you've used?

I'm going to have to start experimenting with my adjustable trigger and if I don't get satisfactory results I'll follow your example and buy the GT III trigger.
