Yes the 1000fps spring and piston will work in your Optimus. You will not see all that speed though as the numbers are over advertised. The optimus is limited by the tube volume. Expect 900 to 905 fps with a Crosman 7.9 grain in .177cal

However, any upgrades to these rifles results in a "firearm" under Canadian law for which a license (PAL) and registration with the Canadian Firearms Centre are required. What you do with any parts you purchase is your business as these specific parts are not "regulated"- but be aware of your legal requirements.

The Optimus is a re-labeled Quest/Phantom/G1/etc. etc.

The most it can put out in .177 is around 930fps, and 720fps in .22 using average weight pellets. The limiting factor is how much air it can move- and nothing can make this any larger. Using the stock parts gets you close to the maximum, and to squeeze the last few fps out of them, people will shim the spring slightly. That being said, "maximum power" isn't always desirable as it may result in poorer overall performance (i.e. more recoil/vibration which can throw things off).

Throwing in my two cents worth

I agree with Eric. I have three of those triggers installed in rifles and they are by far the best improvement you can make.

As someone who has done pretty well every tune and mod you could possibly do to that platform I can say that Eric's numbers are the absolute max. I only saw the 930 mark with a gas ram and a custom con-di venturi fitted in the transfer port. (Pure voodoo and not worth the effort)

I have to agree with Eric and SMP. I have the G1 and Titan, both based on that same platform. Power mods will give a minimum return for your effort, and will probably result in a gun that isn't pleasant to shoot. Turn your attention instead to things that might improve accuracy, smoothness, and ease of use (all related).

I didn't buy the replacement triggers for either of the two guns, choosing instead to make my own parts. Still, my mods use the same geometry as the drop-in triggers, and the guns were transformed. An aftermarket trigger is the place to start.
