To start off i do not know much about air rifles except for the different ways to power them co2, break barrel...ect. so im looking for some advice or someone to point me in the right direction i know i definitely want co2 or compressed air im also looking for a customizable rifle that uses 1 of those power sources and the main components i want to be able to customize are the barrel and the stock. looking to have long range capabilities tops 200 yards. also is there a way to juice up the fps every one i have seen online are only 500-650 fps .22 cal looking to get around 800+ fps. thank you in advanced.

Most rifles have aftermarket accessories available, but the Air Force Condor and Talon are ones that comes to mind that can be highly modified. They are modular and can be setup many ways.

Your'e not going to get 200 yards out of an airgun. 50 yards is about the max and it won't be a sure kill at that range. You won't be able to get that kind of range no matter what kind of rifle you use. There is a program called chairgun that will give you realistic numbers. www.hawkeoptics.com/apps/chairgun-pro.html

By my calculations on chargun, 38yards is about the max range for a .22 at 800 fps.

I think there is enough retained energy at 100yds for anything you would take as small game. Given the right gun of course

If you just want to try plinking at 200 yards, it is possible with 12ftlbs air rifles. There are a few people on Youtube doing such. Here's one:

ive bought a crosman nitro piston .22 and i have faith it'll kill 100 yards away. only problem at that range i can think of is accuracy... even if the scope is zeroed there are a lot of factors like wind or non uniform pellets. but at 50 yards its not a problem. in fact, switching off my gun, my buddies and i were able to keep shooting at the round pepsi logo on the can from 50 yards with consistency.

well, i do plan to have my rifle set up to be accurate around 100yds, which i havent got around to doing just yet. i'll get back to you with results, kinda curious myself.

I shoot at a pot lid with my G1 at 100 yards. In a dead calm I can get about a 5" group. There are more accurate/powerful guns (and some worse), but I find the real challenge to be the wind. What would be inches of windage with a rimfire become feet with an airgun. I'm not trying to discourage you - just the opposite. Go out right away and start experimenting because it's fun.

I'm not sure your comment on "legal" has any valid standing.

This is an international forum and legality varies in every country.

Beyond that there is no restriction on how powerful an airgun is even here in canada....there are simply requirements to own one.

And none in the US, at least not in my state. If you are 16 years old you can buy a 50 cal, 230+ ft. lb. air rifle and hunt with it.
