New to air guns and the forum. I just got a daisy 617x and after reading all the reviews I too wanted a laser on it. Found a web site named beamshot.com that has a product called "ut1 universal trigger guard mount" and it puts a Weaver rail on any thing with a trigger guard. I found it on a site called opticsplanet.com for $13 and had it on in about fifteen minutes.
