I've owned a lot of air rifles over the years, but after a 20 year hiatus I have been amazed at how the technology has both advanced and stagnated...

At any rate I got back into air rifles about a year ago with a Daisy Powerline 901 and then graduated to a couple Gamo 1200 BC's and recently purchased a Benji NP Trail which will most likely conclude my foray into this wonderful sport. Not that I have lost interest, but I have progressed about as far as my time & finances will permit for this particular hobby.

I've got both Gamo BC's up for sale as well as the Daisy, but I think I will hold onto the NP for quite some time as you never know when the ground squirrel's might decide to once again try to enslave the human race Smile

I am the same way LDH®. I've gotten as far as I can afford too. My two faves are my 2400 custom and my Titan. I like the gas pistons even though I still haven't gotten used to it.

I didn't shoot that rat, I stabbed him with a screwdriver.

I don't eat ground squirrel and honestly have never tried, but I imagine they are not very good eats...

That looks big as a squirrel.

Now that's a unusual way of killing rats worth more explaining. How were you able to stab it without it running away first? Was it caught in a trap?

The little bastard invaded my garage about 3 weeks ago and I could hear him on multiple occasions banging around and knocking stuff over out there. Well I came home from work, opened the garage door, wheeled out one of my vintage streetbikes and fired it up. As I did I heard a "clang" and looked over to see that he had jumped from a folded up fiberglass ladder to a folded up aluminum step ladder that had fallen into my drill press. When he saw me he froze and I ran over and grabbed him by the tail and yanked his little a$$ out into the open. He tried to curl on me so I threw him to the ground and he then ran behind a stack of massive storage boxes I have in the corner of the garage. The stack of boxes easily weighs 300lbs so I had to rush it like a football player to move them, but I squished his a$$ between the boxes and the wall. He squealed so I knew I had him and I reached for the longest screwdriver I have and skewered him.

While I am sure he is not the culprit I do feel some sense of satisfaction at his demise. A couple months ago a rat or mouse got up on the engine of my new truck and chewed through the Knock Sensor sub-harness. $900 later I was on a mission to destroy any and all rodents on my premises. They are nothing, but destructive. I can't even count how many times over the years I have had to clean rodent nests from the airboxes of my motorcycles and they have chewed through the Stator wires on my 350 Warrior and a 900RR to get to the insulation material.

I have a hell of a time with rats too. I aqm always killing them around my grain silos and my barns. They get pretty big when they are grain fed. They can't get into the silos themselves, but there is always spilled grain somewhere. I always forget to take my camera witrh me to take pics of them though.

I really can't imagine killing them, just to kill them.... unless ofcourse they were inside my attic of my house or the like. Smile

Funny story LDH.

RV they are bad to have around in many ways. They often cause property damage, house fires, power outages, tick and flea infestations in your yard, and can spread disease to you and your pets. Best to kill them or you will have problems eventually because for every breeding pair you let live the population will explode in just a year let alone two and we're talking in the hundreds. True they can look cute but they are just rats with hair on their tails.
