Hey welcome to the forum.

Sounds like your doing great with that new Benji.

It will take 250-500 rounds to get the gun to completely settle down and develop it's full potential, so have fun blasting some lead downrange Mr. Green

Take the time to test a bunch of different ammo through it to find the one it likes best. Air rifles are very picky about what they eat.

That black greasy mess you found in the barrel is a preservative that the guns are soaked in for shipping. Getting it out of there was the right thing to do but from here on don't clean your barrel too much. every few thousand rds is waaaay lots. Air rifle barrels shoot best "seasoned"

Welcome to the forum!! There's a lot of knowledge & help here for those that seek it, so if you have any problems or questions I'm pretty sure someone here can help. Or at least point you in the right direction. Though judging by your choice of rifle I can see you're already on the right track.
