Hello all,
I have been looking for a forum like this, lots of topics to discuss, lots of members. I hope someone can help with a problem I'm having with my Diana 36.
It started after a few shots and the gun becomes very hard to cock at the end of the stroke. Now it is hard to cock all the time. It does fire, but does not seem to have full power. I have stopped using it.
I bought it new in the mid-90s and I doubt if it has fired 1000 pellets. It's a great gun, and I would appreciate any advice offered.
Thanks, Bob |

There is a good chance the piston is seizing because of surface rust. If this is the case a teardown, cleanup and relube should solve the problem at virtually no expense.
As I remember Diana pistons are a fairly precise fit, so a little surface rust could really play havoc
You can download a diagram here. http://www.diana-airguns.de/index.php?id=20&L=1&width=1024&height=600 |

Sean,
Thanks very much for the response. I've never torn down a spring gun, My old crossman 140 is all I have worked on. Is this something I can do myself? Do I have to worry about the spring jumping out?
Also, what lubricants do you recommend? I can't find my Diana owners manual which specified the lube points.
I'm going to study the diagram and fix this thing. I actually called RWS service, and the guy said he had not heard of a problem like this.
Thanks Again, Bob |

You can get the same symptoms with a broken spring.
BTW Welcome to AirGunHome.

Thanks for the welcome Al. I think I'll be spending some time on this forum. It is well organized, with different topics, and people that are involved. You can tell that it is a well-run site simply by seeing that there is no spam. That takes moderators that care. AirGunEric, I will check out the Vortek site after I figure out how to dis-assemble this gun and find out what's wrong with it.
Thanks for responding, and congratulations on this forum.

Hi all,
Is there a manual or instructions of any kind for disassembly and reassembly for the model 36. I have stared at the diagram, but not sure how to start.
Thanks, Bob |
