Gotta Crossman Phantom! how long does this Rifle take to come in with accuracy!

Using the premium Crossman hollow points. I Shot about 50 rounds so far! I also shoot the Light Super velocity Rounds by Crossman. I've shot about twenty of them. Also I'm using 3X9X40mm scope and it is barely touching the rifle! I'm wondering if vibration is knocing it off! Also, the trigger Sucks! If there is anyone here thats ever worked the trigger on this rifle I would love for them to chime in!

Have no fear it can take 200 or 300 rds for a phantom or a quest to settle down. One of the bigger things that cause accuracy problems in new phantoms is they are saturated in a preservative type oil and that will diesel a fair bit until you get it worked out of the chamber. The diesel causes the pressures to bounce around and that greatly affects accuracy.

If you are new to shooting springer air rifles in general your hold on the gun has everything to do with accuracy. Basically if you hold a springer like a powderburner they will suffer greatly. Google "artillery hold and watch a few You tube videos and you will get a good idea for the correct hold.

Is it a phantom 500 or 800. I personally have not seen a phantom in either version that shoots the ultra light pellets worth a darn. In fact mine favours heavier than normal (14.3gr being norm).

Thats the basics but there is much much more.

As far as the trigger is concerned your right it sucks. The nicest thing you can do for those guns is install the GTX II trigger. It is simply awesome.

Congratulations on your new Phantom and welcome to the forum. The brain power of the people around her is simply outstanding. Ask any question and someone will have direct experience or a well thought out answer for you.

The Phantom is a pretty accurate springer.
Replace the trigger blade with a GTX-II - it's the answer to your trigger issues. http://scopesandammo.com/storefront/product_info.php/gtx-gen-ii-trigger-for-b18crosmangamo-and-more-p-242
The rifle needs a tin of 500 to break in. Is yours a .177 or .22?
And have you shot a springer before? If not, then you'll likely need to learn the artilliary hold to achive accuracy.

Doh... SMP beat me to it! LOL <edit>

I have the G1 (Phantom with a scope and muzzle brake). The guys are right - a tin (or more) of pellets to break it in, and one of the aftermarket replacement triggers and you will love it.
