it has occurred to me that the difficulty I'm encountering in removal of the shroud muzzle cap on the NP Trail may be the result of legislation.

anyone know of any such legislation about a shroud having to be PERMANENTLY attached with no access to the internals? (especially here in California.)

It may be that they made it so hard that you have to destroy it to get it off. That would be one way around the silencer issue. It makes sense especially considering the " let's overlegislate everything" attitude that California has.

After looking at the diagram the only thing that comes to mind is they may have used some loctite.

Heat a small pot of oil on the stove until it smokes approx 375deg F and plunge the tip in until its good and hot. This will soften the sealant and may allow you to turn the plug out

If you heat it up and dip it in oil wouldn't it destroy the o-ring that sits between the cap and shroud?

Depending on the o ring material possibly. But O rings are pennies to replace

True, just wondering. I don't really know what an o-ring can all withstand
