| Im new to the air gun world and im looking to buy my first one since I was little. Im kind of in a rute so if somone could help me out that would be awsome!!! The two that I cant decide on is the Gamo Varmint Hunter 1200 fps .177 cal Tactical or the Remington NPSS .177 in Carbon Fiber. (Any input is better then no input) |

| of the 2 i would pick the NPSS. My neighbor has the original crossman npss (renamed to remington npss). the only mod he had to do was to put in one of charlies trigers. it is a very good shooting gun. we shoot paintballs and golf tees @ 33 yards (the length of my back yard shooting range) never miss the paint balls and dont miss the tee's verry often. |

Gamos are just too junky. I had one and it literally fell apart. The stock cracked beyond repair. |

X3 stay away from Gamo if at all possible...
Go with a lower end Diana, spend the little of extra cash and have something that will shoot great for years, it really is worth it... |

I'd take a look at the Ruger Blackhawk, it's in the El Cheapo price-range and I gotta admit that so far I like it. They're based on a Diana Model 31/34 (you could also look at those btw, they're good bang for your buck) thus there is a lot of information you can find on them. |

| I don't like going against the mentioned consensus here but I have had some Gamo guns and while I no longer have them I have to say they were pretty good. The fit and finish was good and they were quite accurate. I disagree with Gamo advertising very much. For sure you can not believe their fps ratings and their light weight ammo is so light it flies all over the place. |

| I have never met a Gamo pellet that was worth the S&H, much less the purchase price, and the scope that came on my Big Cat was junk (it was replaced with one off a Ruger AirHawk), but the Big Cat itself and I get along very well (once the GRT III was in place). I'm still looking for the pellet that will shrink the groups to one hole, but with CHP's I enjoyed several squirrel stews this last fall and winter, which is good enough shooting for me. Done over again though, I think I would have saved up for the Diana. Maybe. |

| I'm still kicking myself for walking past the Quest when I was at the store buying my Big Cat. Would have saved 40 bucks and an exchange, and would still have had the gun. I could get all shots to at least touch at ten yards but I just didn't like it at all after a bit for some reason |
