I received my B-26 from magnumair today.... and let me tell you, it's a beaut!.... Nice stock, good trigger, deep bluing, and LIGHT.... It only weighs 6.75 lbs without the scope.... I pulled off the open sights, put a Fitco 2-7 x 32 on it, and it weighs 7 lb. 10 oz. complete and ready to go.... Cool

I checked the bore and it was squeaky clean (George only put 25 shots through it).... I grabbed a tin of pellets and fired about 50 shots and it seemed to be settled down already!.... The shot cycle is VERY smooth, much better than the Phantom/Quest I had that was the same power and weight.... I felt right at home with this gun immediately....

I had 37 different kinds of pellets in my .22 cal inventory, and ran a 5-shot group of each through the Chrony in my indoor range.... The results are just about what I expected.... The gun shoots just under 14 FPE with the lightest pellets, peaks out at 15 FPE with 14-15 gr. pellets, drops back to about 14 FPE by the time the pellet weight is in the 18-21 gr. range and then the power nosedives with the really heavy stuff.... It shoots 685 fps with RWS Super Dome and Hollow Points with good accuracy.... but the star pellets for accuracy so far are Crosman Hollow Points (at 665 fps), Beeman FTS (also at 665 fps), JSB Exacts (at 612 fps) and Predators (at 623 fps).... It also liked JSB Heavies (586 fps) and H&N Baracudas (547 fps), but the velocity is a bit low when you go that heavy for my taste.... At the other end, it liked Hobbies which it put across the Chrony at 725 fps....

I'm a bit disappointed that this gun doesn't seem to like JSB Express, either for accuracy or velocity.... It only puts them across the Chrony at 609 fps (less than 12 FPE).... My B-28 was the same with the lighter JSB pellets, it didn't get the velocity with them that it did with other pellets of the same weight.... By the time you get to the 18 gr. Heavies, this phenomenon disappeared with both guns.... but for some reason, the light to medium weight JSB pellets are down in power in both my BAMs....

At the end of the first day of shooting, I have now put about 250 pellets down the bore.... I have to say, this is one of the smoothest shooting Springrers I have ever laid hands on.... I'M IMPRESSED.... Mr. Green

Once again, many thanks to George for the wonderful gift.... Thank-You

Bob

Under 25 yards it Groups fine with CPH/CPM/PREDS/BEEMAN SILVER BEARS (all I've tried). CPM's are the diet cuz they're cheap. Wink

I've not gone beyond that range. Embarassed

665/14.3 CPM is steady.

"bottle cap" accurate.

Hey rsterne, have you gotten much trigger time with this puppy yet? I'll probably never buy one but the guns seem pretty nice for what you pay

I had talked to vortek, you need to make sure it has
a 26mm tube. Mine is 25mm. A lot of retailers
were claiming 26mm and many (like mine)
were 25mm.

I'm telling you, post tune accuracy is unbelievable.
