Hey guys, I just wanted to know which pellets where the most accurate for them Tree Rats. I was thinking either the SuperDome or the Hobbies, but i could be wrong.
Thanks,

| Generally, wadcutters are good for paper target. They are designed to make a clean mark and make it easier for scoring. For hunting, a domed or round nose pellet. or a pointed or hollow point is preferable because it had a better ballistic coefficient than a wadcutter. So, of your two choices in RWS pellets, I'd say use the superdomes for the tree rats. |

| When discussing accuracy it depends on the gun very much. One gun may like a particular pellet make and a different but the same kind of gun may like a different kind. |

In most cases pointed pellets don't like
going over around 700fps...you will fined
.22 cal guns shoot points better than .177 guns
because of the lower FPS
JSB Exacts seem to shoot well in most guns.
H&N FTT are very good aswell.. |

Old answer, but still the best....
Whatever is the most accurate in your gun.... If they are equal, then the domes at longer ranges....

| wadcutters work well under 20 yrds. after that domes. all the rws pellets ive put through my guns are sweet! just shoot them all and your gun will choose for ya. the r-10 and meisterkugelin work super in my 1377. but all rws are wonderful pellets in my opinion. good luck. walt |

From literally spending hundreds of dollars on pellets..and throwing a bunch of them in the trash...I have found that JSB's are very accurate in probably 90% of the airguns I have owned and currently own..This seems to be true with a large majority of airgunners world wide...in fact I'd go so far as to say they're #1..but that's jut my opinion..based solely on what I've seen/read. Crosman pellets are accurate as well, but mostly only in Crosman airguns.....RWS, H&N, Air Arms, RWS, just to name some others, are all good apparently to varying degrees as well.
The ONLY way you'll find out what each of your guns likes is to do some actually firing of the pellets through your guns..it's just a fact of life..Like I said earlier, I have thrown many tins away that only had 20-30 pellets shot from them..If they aren't accurate I can't think of any reason whatsoever to keep them.
You'll have to decide what "accurate" is...to me it's 5 shot groups that can be completely covered by a penny @ 25 yards, and can be covered with a quarter at @ 50 yards.. |
