Has such a thing ever been made?.... 1/2 oz. of shot is 220 grains.... at 1100 fps that is just under 600 FPE.... Since big bore airguns such as the Quackenbush are in that power range it would seem to be quite possible.... The .458 LA Outlaw was detuned during development from 600+FPE to 500 so that it could get two shots instead of one....
Just curious if anyone has seen something like this.... It should be a relatively simple matter to use .410 shotshells and plastic wads and reload like a regular shotshell, minus the powder.... Drilling out the base where the primer hole was could provide an air port.... and the bolt could have an O-ring to seal against the base of the shell.... You could start with a .410 shotgun barrel with the choke you wanted.... You would have to make sure the barrel and bolt were locked together in a strong manner, however.... At 2000 psi, the force trying to separate them is ~400 lbs....
I'm thinking that after I've developed my Hayabusa PCP to 9mm next winter.... that this might be a logical (or crazy?) next step....
