| I have been shooting just about all day. Gun is brand new. I was getting a bit frustrated with the groups I was getting. I followed you guys advice about the break in period, and just shot a bunch of rounds. I shot about 250 rounds. I was shooting Gamo lead. What brand/type of pellets shoot best from this gun? |

Dude, It's air guns! lots of exerimenting, trial & error. If you really fear it's the pellets-- I would be a good Idea to get some sample packs of pellets. Most of the on-line stores have them. Plus if you call them they may be able to put together a great combo pack for your gun. Then just keep shooting, and the cream will rise to the top
------ Every gun will chose it's favorite pellet ---------
------ lube your gun PROPERLY every 200 rounds or so --------
----- most flustrations can be fixed in the hold as well, best of luck |

My experience with Gamo pellets is that they are garbage; very inconsistent diameters, lots of damaged skirts, neither of which are good for accuracy. My Big Cat shoots Crossman Premier HP fairly well. The German pellets. RWS and such, are high quality pellets, and the Beeman pellets I've tried are good. But 720fly is right, it's trial and error to find out which *your* gun likes. If you're lucky, it'll like cheap ones. You can get a nice sampler at http://www.straightshooters.com/straightshooters/sssampler.html.
You might also consider a trigger replacement. Either the GRT III or the GTX III will improve your trigger unbelievably, which will lead to better accuracy. Best $32 I could have put out for my rifle. |

My Whisper loved Gamo Hunter's,and Predator Polymag's.There is no set pellet for a gun....as no two guns, even the exact same model are likely to shoot the same.My Benjamin Discovery also likes Gamo Hunter pellets. It LOVES Beeman Kodiaks, and Polymag's.The Hunter's are pretty dirty, and cheap, but for economical shooting they can't be beat....Again that's out of those two guns...your results may vary. All other Gamo pellets were crap out of both guns....
Out of my Disco shooting Gamo pointed I was getting groups of over 3 inches from the bench at 20 meters....
Totally unacceptable. |

i never had luck with gamo stuff. i prefer to spend a little more on the rws, jsb, air arms, h&n etc. you get what you pay for. it made a world of difference in my crossman 1377. it went from this gun kinda sucks to wow this thing is pretty darn accurate! huge difference!!!!!!!!! |

Pay for the pellets... the gamo things are just good as fishing weights. Last batch (and the last I will ever buy), they came in three sizes to a tin. Only one of the sizes made a decent group. 50 of 250 pellets? No thanks. At that rate it would be cheaper to just buy the good stuff.
RWS, JSB, HN, Predator, Crosman Premier, to name a few.
Your gun will very likely chose a single pellet it shoots well. |

your rifle will chose for you. just shoot a bunch of flavors of the good stuff mentioned and with time and patience, you will find a brand thats the best at putting all shots extremely close together. thats the keeper! stop buying the others and stock pile the good stuff. have fun! i love the whole experimentation aspect of the sport myself. walt. |

| You guys were right. I got some crossman premier domes, about 50 shots into the tine and my groups tightened right up. At 15 yards I can shoot 3 pellets in the same hole. When I move it out 20 to 25 yards I was shooting some 1/2" 5 shot groups. At about 30 yards I was getting good one inch groups! Thanks formthe help! I guess there is something to the "break in" |

| I don't think the improvement was due to break-in but more to getting a better pellet for your rifle. |
