i have a leapers 3x9x40 on my 97k. the base is 2 mounts are 2 piece with 2 screws per base 4 per cap. everything seems to be tight yet im havind a wandering zero issue. i know its not a great scope but was hoping it would serve purpose for back yard fun. i dont think it the gun as when it drifts off bull it then groups well to the new poi. the rings have that sticky tape on the inside. should i remove this? i thought it was a good thing. any thoughts? when it drifts i can tune it back center and it will hold for a time then drift again. very frustrating! any thoughts gladly welcome. should i get a better scope? it wasnt that much and was hoping to avoid a pricey one. i guess i may have learned my lesson. help! walt |

I have that same scope on a B-28 and they kick like a mule.... so far no problems.... I wouldn't remove the tape from inside the rings.... I wonder if your problem is more the stock screws loosening and changing the POI.... The only other thing I can think of is that you are very close to the end of the adjustment range and the scope just can't handle the recoil with minimal tension left on the spring that centers the reticle.... If you can determine that you are a long way off center.... maybe try shimming the scope to get back closer to optical center on the scope and re-sight it....
