Placement is right where I want it but their thicker coats are requiring more hits from my Gamo Whisper (1100 fps). I moved to heavier Diabolo Exact Heavy (.670g) pellets in .177 but am just not getting consistent single shot results. These are domed rounds; should I be using hollow point or pointed? If you are shooting at close range, you might try a wadcutter or hollowpoint pellet for less penetration.... I know guys who even load wadcutters backwards for really close in rodent whacking.... I find head shots work better at anchoring any game.... providing you have accurate placement.... Body shots will kill very effectively.... mostly through bleedout (lungs, arteries).... although a heart shot will usually result in the animal not moving far.... Other body shots will usually result in the animal moving a considerable distance.... unless the power is overwhelming, of course....
