The annual patron saint's day celebration in a town where I used to live. Things have improved in 30 years - now they have those dancing skeleton pirates for when you hit the targets, and I see one of the prizes is a velvet Jesus. Back then all they had was candy for prizes and painted light bulbs for targets.
Anybody know what kind of gun it is? It looks to be past the break-in period.

Guatemala. City of Quezaltepeque, Department of Chiquimula. You can get all the news on www.elcachacero.com. The nickname for the town's residents comes from cane sugar production. When they boil down the cane juice a foam called cachasa forms on top of the vat. So, people from Quezaltepeque are called cachaceros, or "foamers."
The gun could be from anywhere. When I was there 30 years ago the army carried Galils from Israel, customs agents carried M1 carbines from he U.S. (by way of Australia), and the local militia marched with Argentinian Mausers. These carnivals mostly had lever-action Daisys, with a few of those Crosman M1 carbine replicas. |

| That rifle does have quite a bit of extra steel on it- that trigger guard and the tube/stock clamp... |

It looks like the trigger guard extends under the clamp. There also appears to be a hole in the trigger guard just behind the trigger. Original or repair, who knows.
It also looks like the barrel "droops" upward.
In the hands of an expert marksman like the lady in the photo I'm sure it's deadly. Especially to the guy standing in front of her. |
