Well , my Chrony showed up today so before the Wife and Kids get home, I put the Nitro Trail NP XL1100 to the test , WOW , even worse than i imagined.

Crosman Copper head 14.3g pellets , 563.3 , 613.2 ,563.8
RWS Super H point , 561.2 , 522.8 , 527.4
JSB Jumbo exact 14.3 g , 619.7 , 566.2 , 570 , 609.6 , 617.4 .
Needless to say i was not impressed but , to give Crosman credit they are going to exchange the rifle for me .

For a comparison , i also tried my Phantom .22 using the same pellets.

Copper head , 663.4, 663.7 , 669.1 , 666.2 ( consistant little bugger !! )
Crow Magnums 559.5 , 551.8 , 559.0 , 560.1 ,
RWS Super H point , 676.1 , 669.8 666.9 , 673.1 , 666.1 , 670 .
JSB Jumbo Exact , 697 , 679.8 , 684.7 .

Lastly, I also tried my Benjamin Classic (similar to a Superstreak for Canadian market, but less power).

RWS Super H , 646.7, 652.4 , 654.3
JSB Jumbo Exact 14.3g , 661.3 , 655.8 , 662.5.
H&N Crow Mags , 547 , 548, 542 .

So , its bye bye to the Nitro , hopefully the next one is at least 200 fps faster than this one.

I hope you have a better experience with the replacement. I'm real happy with mine. Can't tell you if it's slow or not but it went 3/4" into my phone book.

The tell tale for me before i got the Chrony was a 15mm thick piece of deck board ( softwood ) at approx 50' away , my Phantom sent a pellet clean through it . When i tried the trail , the pellet just bounced off . I tried a few more just in case i hit a " Hard spot " no luck , so i'll wait for the new one to show up . Now that i have the Chrony , i'll be testing it as soon as the first 100 or so pellets are through her .

After 100 or so shots still can't tell how fast it is but it's still penetrating deep into the phone book. The diesel smell has gone away, our accuracy has gotten better and the only noise I hear is the pellet hitting the target. Cool

The stuff coming from the crossman shop is tip top, I would suggest the box premier's with this gun, I really think that they are the one for this gun. I wanted to run the heaviest pellets I could, 14.3 is all I get
I bet you will be happy with the next one

There lots of pellets in .22 heavier than 14.3....in fact, THAT is just about as lightweight as you can go in that caliber.....

There are lots of pellets heavier than 14.3g . I'm having really good luck with JSB's in all weights . I try and use the 18.1 g pellets mostly .

Did you get the replacement rifle yet? If so- what are it's numbers?

Sorry- you sent it to Quebec- who then said they are forwarding it to the US to be repaired? Send me an email with the details on this and I will speak to Crosman- that is absurd to have to wait weeks for a return product...
