Anyone here tried it?
I'd be willing to try it sometimes, if I had the cash. Just get a small motorcycle engine (35 cc) a jerrycan and mark it for every litre. First without Acetone and when it's drained with Acetone and see which drains faster on a time scale. |

| I'm not so sure acetone would get along with the seals in the fuel system? Or, if there is any cylinder 'wash' where some ends up in the crankcase oil- would it cause issues? |

Well, from what I've read that'd be negligible, as gasoline itself isn't exactly good for rubber or stuff either. Also, Acetone apparently makes for cleaner combustion.
You're not supposed to put loads of Acetone in it, just a bit. Apparently, nobody really scientifically has proven it, but a lot of people been driving on it in the States for years.
Could go and get all scientific on it right here but I'm not that much of a scientist. I'm gonna ask a buddy who drives a small old motorcycle if he can help out. |

lol my main hobby instead of this new found hobby of air guns are tinkering with cars.. acetone is used alot in modded car on a forum honda-tech.com there are acouple guys that run acetone with there gas to keep regular gas from detonating. Its a cheaper alternative to race gas but also not as effective you could use it in a regular driving car so far from what i have read was there wasnt a bad impact yet on his fuel system but time will tell ..
if you run this in a regular 0DB2 car (odb2 is the computer that the car runs off of every car has a differnt computer but anything newer then 2006 the computer runs off of 0DB2, its more of a standard for cars now but they are very strick on emissions and motor safty.) IIt will probly trip the 02 sensor causing your check engine light to come on /fail smog test and all that |

| i personaly wouldnt run it in my car as a octane booster the new hype is E85 alot of guys are Sqeezing big numbers out of E85 on stock motors with boost , so far thas has been one complaint about it eating up the fuel lines and fittings , but the guy couldnt prove it , the only bad thing about E85 is after you tune your car for it you cant drive your car in the winter unless you retune again because E85 changes there mixture to a winter blend that is slightly differnt then summer blend of E85 that could cause complications for a modded/tunned car |

bhaenn, OBD2 came out in the US in 1996/1997.
Acetone is supposed to lower the surface tension of gasoline so that it can atomize better, allowing the fuel to burn more completely, along with some other stuff. |
