I was looking at Hawke scopes to put on a diana 52 and was wondering what the difference is between the Airmax and the Sport HD models and if the Sport HD is for a spring airgun. If anyone has any experience with either model, I would appreciate the info.
Thank You!

I have an Airmax scope on my QB78 and it works well with no problems, What I like about it is that it has a large knob on the top for ease of use with gloves on and you don’t need a screwdriver to adjust it, also it has a MAP 6 reticle which I like, whereas the Sport HD as a Mil Dot reticle and elevation and wind adjusters need a screwdriver to adjust. BTW the Sport is built for a Springer.

Hope it helps

Have a look here:

Or have a word with AirgunEric

Thank you for your help! I can get the 3-9x40AO Airmax for $129 or the 3-9x40AO Sport HD for $69. I just do not know if the Airmax is worth the extra $60

It really come down to which reticle you like and an adjustment knob on the elevation turret, you can down load a program for setting up either reticle from the Hawke site, it may be worth while trying it out to see which suits you best.

There is quite a bit of difference in the price, so it really down to what you want to pay for, the basic scopes are very similar.

Thank You! Alstone for your help, I will probably go with the Sport HD due to the difference in price. I will give it a review after I receive it and have a chance to try it out.
