Skeno was all "lead free" stuff- have they changed this?
I think their marketing claim of "most accurate hunting pellet in the world" may be fiction- who's stated this other than themselves?
FYI, the guy who started up Skenco sold off the sales rights/granted all sales function of/to their products to Predator Pellets a couple years ago. |

I was on Skeno's website... and... it looks like the lead pellets are made else where and shipped to them for tipping... Such is the case with Preditors...
They have the JSB logo on the tin. JSB is a name I can trust. sooo.... I ordered a couple of tins to try out...
The only issue with the Preds is they are too light for long range hunting... I usualy have to put a follow up shot at 100 yards in the little Whistle Piggies to stop the death dance...
Maybe by the time they get here... I'll get some decent weather to go out hunting... |

If JSB made the lead and Predator put the child in the front ( )... they should be some rather accurate pellets.
Aren't all of the Skenco pellets supposed to be lead free? |

I'm hoping so Fritz.... I ordered 2 tins... and Preds are expensive from the git go...
Considering I can go through 500 rounds of JSB Hevies in a day of plinking... 150 rounds for a day of hunting making each shot count should do it and not break the bank...
The only place in the area that sells Preds is Cabela's... and they are in Boise... Which is not bad... if I go during the week... I can hit the SCUBA shop to fill my tanks, Cabela's and Pacific Metals for materials in the same trip... |

Sniper, they should technically fly slower than a normal diabolo. It looks like there is more contact with the barrel, thus more friction and a slower velocity.
Either way, it's some serious FPE. The question is; do they expand, and does the penetrator penetrate properly? Should have a good BC from the design. |

IMO not a great design for long range with that blunt nose.... unless something strange is going on because of the point.... Without that, I would expect them to lose energy like a wadcutter....

Well, the Predators have a pretty crappy design, yet a good BC. IIRC of course...
The shape is also similar to Benjamin Cylindricals, which also have a relatively high BC.
I would expect them to have the good BC from a combination of sectional density and the penetrator. Their hollow base doesn't look too deep. Joe will have to take some measurements for us all... |

Predators aren't great on BC.... but then they are only 16 gr.... The sheer weight of these pellets will help of course....
The only way to be sure is to test them.... get velocities at the muzzle and at 25 yards (minimum).... 50 yards is better....
