Just wondering if it's decent. In my hunt for a pistol for those darn rats, nothing fits all my requirements except this one. I'm not sure how i overlooked it, but it seems to have everything i wanted, at least those things that can be determined thru specs...
Co2
cheap
double and single action
under barrel weaver mount
pellets
rifled
reasonable velocity
Then the things i'm hoping it has and the reviews and videos i've seen seem to indicate it does to a reasonable degree....accuracy and quietness. But i need opinions on those from owners, so i figured i'd post and see if anyone with this gun could expand on those things and how reliable it is or isn't. as to volume, my only comparison is my C11 BB, and for the record thats about as loud as it can be or i won't be able to use it. |

| I have one. It's not very accurate. It's good enough for pop cans at 10 paces, but I would never hunt with it. The 2240 or 2300 is reserved for that. Especially the 2300 as it has a pistol scope and 10 in barrel on it. Both my 2300 and 2240 is.22 cal. It's kind of hard to find ammo for it, but my local meier store carries premieres for it. |

| Accuracy of course is relitive. My C11 BB is plenty accurate for my purpose...rats at 5 to 10 yards. So i would think a similar crossman in pellet form would be better, no? |

| I am just not accurate enough with either of my repeating pistols to be comfortable enough to hunt with them. My 2240 leaves brain smears behind the rat or squirrel I am hunting. And since I use both my 2240 and 2300 for pest duty, I like the one shot one kill advantage. If you hit either a squirrel or a rat in central body mass with either one of these pistols I can just about guarantee you a sure kill with no runaways. THe only issue I have with them is noise, but a hammer debounce device(so I am told) quiets them down considerably. Speaking of which, does anybody here know how to make a debounce for the 2240? |

| Noise is actually the #1 issue in that i cannot go louder than what i have now, a C11 BB. This narrows my choices way way down. Anything that can propel a .22 pellet to 460 FPS like the 2240 is going to naturally be way louder than my C11. The one and only model i have yet to find any serious issues with in fitting my requirements is the gamo PT80. But i'm having problems buying that or anything else because theres no way to know the loudness, and if it's much louder than my C11 it will be an expensive doorstop. |

| pyramyd used to have a 10 day trial to see if you liked the gun or not. I don't know if they still do it or not. It would be a good thing to try anyway. |

Deadrats,
The tko muzzel break will help with the noise issue. I don't own one yet, but plan on installing one on both my 2300 and my discovery. Other's here swear by them. Do a forum search for a review. And they won't break the bank/budget either. Can find them here....

Todd,
Airguns of Arizona makes a debounce for both the 22xx's and the Discovery. I'm interested in these too. Although I understand from the instructions they may need to be trimmed a bit if you have a power adjuster installed. |
