you know, the kind where EVERYTHING you touch goes worng !!! Well, today was obviously my turn to have one of those days.....I have had to completely tear down a gun FOUR times and replace all the o-rings everytime, and of course they leaked every time, so I'd have to replace them and then I ran out of o-rings, etc, etc, etc.
Then the bolt , out of the blue, started hanging up (and stilll is) for no apparent reason.....JEEEZZZ...won;'t bore you with ALL the rest of the stuff,,I'll close with this...I finally had to just QUIT working on it,,,,will see if tomorrow is any better (hell, can't be any worse Neutral )
So, I'll get off my "pity pot" now...thanks for listening Smile

Oh boy,one of those..."yesterday was my day".Sometimes you just gotta say WTF..have a cold beer, reflect, and sleep on it.Then you can tackle it with a fresh perspective in the morning.

Well, come to find out, even a BAD day can have some good come out of it,; I learned a few things yesterday that will serve me well in the future...
1. O-rings for the valve and the gauge adapter and end fill adapter all use the same size o-ring....it is .625" (5/8) x .750" (3/4) AND I bought some at a hardware store for $0.35 each (crosman charges $1.15 each) and my hardware store brand have been holding air for the last TWO days....so THAT'S good to know right there!
2. If you drill up the air inlet hole in the barrel, you better be ##7%%!!! sure you drill the hole perfectly perpindicular to barrel's axial axis..or else the metal sleeve will not want to seat square and will give you hell trying to get it seated right into the rubber TP seal....that right there's good to know!
3. Stainless steel breeches will work perfect when you cycle it in your hand: BUT will not necessarily be able to cock the gun once installed . And no matter what you use to try and smooth up any rough or sharp edges, not much will be accomplished. The Crosman steel breech @ $30.00 is a GOOD deal, and not a one of them has ever given me any trouble...and that right there's good to know!
4. Just because your Disco is real s l o w l y leaking all the air out ( in 6-8 hours) do NOT assume that it's an o-ring that is leaking and needs to be changed....Put about 2 inches of water in your kitchen sink and then stick the fill adapter down into said water...those little bubbles coming up means that your fill adapter came from Crosman with a tiny piece of trash in it and will not seal..It has to be removed, dis-assembled and thoroughly cleaned , and that right there's good to know Mr. Green Mr. Green Mr. Green Mr. Green Mr. Green Mr. Green
So see? Even a bad day can have some good in it... -Rodger
