need an air gun to kill starlings with. i am a farmer and they almost burnt down one of my tractors and ruined my wax job on my combine. i want a spring type.(not CO2) dont know which brand name. i want a gun that is accurate and can kill starlings at 50-60 yds. would like to spend under $400 for a gun a good scope if possible. i tried using my 12 gauge but they tend to fly off and not come back for a while. thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

Check out the Super Streak. For that distance you're looking at a .22 or .25.

I'm not sure your budget will get you exactly what you're looking for. Could you get down to 30-40 yards?

i might can get down to 30-40 yds if i have too. i was browsing around on pyramidair.com. was interested in the diana RWS guns. maybe reccommed some good guns for both yardages and i can decide how much i can spend. its gonna be a tax write off anyhow!!

Can you go PCP? Myself, not sure about the startup cost for PCP, but it's worth it.

For springers only, check out the Diana 54, 460, 350, and for the mild side, the 34.

All "magnums", except for the 34. Should put pellets on target at 50 yards, at least.

what about the Benjamin Trail NP XL? i was looking at the super streak on you tube and came up the Trail.

so i take it that PCP is more accurate than the springers?? what about this deal on gun broker..its a benjamin dicovery.

as i had said. for your $$$ look at a beeman R-9.

pcp's have a vast learning curve.

a springer will always be a go-to-platform.

The R-9 would be nice, but I don't think they are still available?

The discovery is a good platform. That's what I would get. Since you likely already have some high pressure noble gases around... it would be easy to fill. (BTW, never use pure oxygen in an airgun) Argon, Helium, Neon, all good. Recoilless, easy to use. Pretty much plug and play. No tricky recoil to master.

skip the pump and go right to a scuba tank.

an r-9/hw-95 is my dream break barrel springer.
(i have the chinese clone and love it)
